The list price is only the starting part of what a motor costs the business over its life. Once shipping, installation, adaptation parts, commissioning, and the energy and maintenance costs during operation are added, the comparison often gives a different result.

Costs at the delivery and installation stage
- Shipping: at DRG, shipping is not included in the price; it is calculated according to weight, package size and delivery destination and confirmed in writing before payment. Collecting the motor by appointment from the DRG warehouse in Buca, Izmir removes this item.
- Adaptation: the cost and machining of a pulley, coupling, base plate or adapter flange if one is needed.
- Installation labour: the hours spent on removal, alignment, coupling adjustment and connection.
- Panel side: if the power changes, re-examining the cables, switchgear and protective devices.
Costs arising during service
On machines with high annual operating hours, the energy bill is the largest item, quickly leaving the motor price behind. Lubrication, bearing replacement and periodic checks are added to this. Wrong power selection, operation at low load or frequent failures make these items grow.
Overlooked indirect items
The time the machine is stopped during the replacement, unexpected dimensional differences found at commissioning and the return shipping of a wrongly chosen product are also costs. If the shaft diameter, foot hole spacing and shaft height are verified before ordering, these risks are largely reduced.
Build your own table
Fill in the same rows for every quotation: motor price (excluding and including VAT), shipping, adaptation, labour, estimated annual energy and maintenance. The energy consumption calculator can be used for the annual energy estimate. Any discount applied to the list price for payment by bank transfer can also be shown as a separate row in this table.
Once the table is complete, you can transfer the current prices and dimensions of the three-phase motors in the shop into the same rows and evaluate the options side by side.
