Hygiene zone and motor position

On a food machine the motor stays outside the product-contact area: in a closed drive bay, under the frame or behind a belt guard. What protects contact surfaces is the machine’s design, not the motor. What we sell is a general-purpose IP55 industrial motor whose cast iron or aluminium body is painted. They are never hosed directly in pressure washing; the motor is shielded by a cover. Where a washdown area really needs stainless steel, such a housing is outside our range; get in touch and we will look at alternatives together. Power, speed and connection dimensions

Choosing a motor for a food machine starts with the nameplate: kW, rpm, voltage and the star or delta link in the terminal box. Then comes the mechanical side: IEC frame size, feet or flange, the shaft with its key, and whether the motor meets the machine through a pulley, a coupling or a gearbox. We set that list beside the machine documentation and settle suitability with you; no firm fit promise is made before we see the dimensions.

Starting and speed control

A kneader starting with a full bowl, a cracker full of product or a heavy fan impeller needs high torque at start. Where belts need speed adjustment, a standard motor is driven by an inverter; we do not supply the inverter.

What our range does not include

Outside our range: single-phase motors common on small mincers, slicers, sheeters and planetary mixers; brake motors on slicers and bone saws; servo and stepper motors on fillers; pole-changing two-speed motors on spiral mixers; and the hermetic compressor of an ice cream machine. Vibration motors on sieves and feeders are a separate product group: vibration motors. On a homogeniser the motor is standard, but the high-pressure pump is not something we supply.
