ULTRA-EFFICIENT ASYNCHRONOUS ELECTRIC MOTOR are asynchronous (induction) motors, the most widely used motor type in industry. Since they contain no wearing parts such as brushes or... More Details
Asynchronous motors (induction motors) are the most widely used asynchronous electric motor type in industry thanks to their simple construction, durability and low maintenance. Running on AC and having no brushes or commutator, they are long-lasting and reliable. The DRG Motor family offers both single-phase and three-phase models across a wide power and speed range.
The rotating magnetic field created in the stator induces current in the rotor, producing torque. Because the rotor turns slightly slower than the magnetic field, these motors are called "asynchronous". This simple, robust principle makes the motor the most reliable workhorse of industry.
Asynchronous AC motors stand out with a robust body, easy commissioning, low failure rate and competitive cost; speed and torque control are added with an inverter. Common uses of the AC motor include pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, cranes, crushing-screening plants and agricultural machinery. As they can be built in IE3, IE4 and IE5 classes they also meet modern efficiency requirements; for higher efficiency see the high efficiency motors page.
The DRG Motor asynchronous range includes cast iron bodies, various mountings (B3, B5, B35) and 750–3000 rpm options. Review our range for AC electric motor prices and specifications, and get support from our expert team to select a motor at the right power and speed.
Asynchronous motors are among the easiest motor types to maintain; with regular bearing checks, cleaning and operation at the correct voltage they serve trouble-free for many years. A proper protection relay and thermal setting noticeably extend the motor's life.
