Most frequently needed spare parts

  • Bearings: the drive-end and non-drive-end bearings are the parts that wear most; size and type (e.g. deep-groove ball or cylindrical roller) depend on the frame size.
  • Fan and fan cover: on IC411 motors, the external fan that provides cooling can be damaged by impact or wear; a broken fan causes both overheating and vibration.
  • Terminal box and terminal board: connection studs, links, gasket and lid.
  • Seals and gaskets: shaft seals and end-shield gaskets are important for maintaining the IP protection level.
  • End shields and flanges: B5 / B14 flanges and bearing covers.

How to get the right part quickly

Sharing the details on the motor nameplate speeds up the process considerably: power (kW), speed, frame size (e.g. 132M, 160L), mounting type, voltage and, if available, the serial number. For bearings, the code printed on the existing bearing is enough. Sending a photo of the nameplate and the faulty part removes the risk of receiving the wrong item.

Replace the part or the motor?

Replacing parts such as bearings or a fan is usually an economical solution. However, for an old, low-efficiency motor with a burnt winding or a damaged housing, replacing it with a new one may pay off in the long run, and an IE3 or higher motor also brings energy savings.
