Stone crushing and screening plants run on machines that generate constant impact and high torque as they reduce hard rock to aggregate size. The high-kW electric motors driving jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers and vibrating screens form the backbone of such a plant. DRG Motor builds high-power models designed for these heavy conditions at its plant in Izmir.
Motor Load on the Crushing Line
Crushers demand high starting torque against jaws full of material, which means the motor must run under heavy load without overheating. DRG's cast iron frame motors are robust enough to absorb mechanical shock and vibration, and their IP55 protection keeps dust out. Class F insulation keeps the windings safe even at the high ambient temperatures of summer quarry sites.
Why Low Speed, High Torque?
Crusher and screen drives generally favour 6-pole motors at 1000 rpm, which produce higher torque at lower speed and resist slip and overload. In very large plants, 4-pole motors at 1500 rpm are paired with a gearbox to deliver the required torque.
High-kW Power Range
DRG's high-power series reaches up to 355 kW and is designed for S1 continuous duty on the 400 V / 50 Hz grid. From the primary crusher through the secondary and tertiary stages and on to screening and washing units, there is a suitable motor for every stage.
The Right Motor Solution for Your Plant
In a crushing plant, downtime translates straight into loss. DRG Motor helps you select the correct power and mounting (usually B3 foot) for your crusher type and capacity, and with spare-motor stock gets your line running again quickly when an unexpected failure strikes.
