An AC asynchronous (induction) motor runs on the current the rotating field induces in its rotor and needs no permanent magnets, making it the most rugged motor type in industry. Across İzmir's port, textile and food-driven industry these motors power most pump, fan and machine-tool drives, and DRG Motor meets that demand locally from its İzmir-based supply.

How the Induction Motor Works

The rotating field in the stator induces a voltage in the short-circuited squirrel-cage rotor, and the resulting current reacts with the field to produce torque. The rotor turns slightly below synchronous speed; this difference is called slip. The absence of brushes and a commutator keeps maintenance to a minimum.

Induction Motors in İzmir Industry

With Aliağa, Kemalpaşa and the Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone, İzmir is the Aegean's manufacturing hub. Induction motors run continuously in textile machinery, olive-oil and food lines, refrigeration compressors and port equipment. That continuity makes a durable, efficient motor essential.

Technical Values and Protection Class

DRG induction motors operate on a 400 V / 50 Hz supply and offer 3000, 1500 and 1000 rpm via 2-, 4- and 6-pole options. IP55 dust and water protection, Class F insulation and S1 continuous duty are standard. Cast iron and aluminum housings are chosen according to the severity of the application.
