A flour mill in Erzurum, an irrigation cooperative in Mersin or a textile workshop in Tekirdağ all ask the same question: “The motor leaves from İzmir — how will it reach me, how long will it take, and what should I watch for at the door?” The electric motor prices you see in the store are the same for buyers anywhere in Türkiye; the only item that changes is the transport that carries the motor from the warehouse in Buca to your plant. This article walks through that journey step by step: how the shipping method is chosen, what the shipping fee depends on and how to protect your rights at delivery.

From Buca to 81 Provinces: Shipping at a Glance

DRG Motor ships to every province of Türkiye through contracted freight and parcel companies. The shipping chain runs in this order:

  1. Your order and payment are matched by the order code.
  2. The transport method (parcel carrier or freight) is determined by the motor's weight and package size.
  3. The shipping fee is calculated for your destination province and notified to you in writing (WhatsApp or e-mail) before payment.
  4. The motor is packed and handed over to the carrier; the estimated dispatch and delivery date is shared in the order confirmation.
  5. The carrier brings the motor to your address or to the freight company's destination branch.

Each link of this chain is described on the delivery and shipping page. Below we look at what each link means for the buyer.

Parcel Carrier or Palletised Freight? The Motor's Size Decides

Small motors are parcel-sized and are usually sent by parcel carrier. As the frame grows the motor becomes heavier and can no longer be carried by hand; these motors are fixed on a pallet and travel with freight companies. For mid-range ratings the decision depends on the actual weight and package size. The table below shows this split together with the motor price for six models at 1500 rpm.

Prices are taken from the DRG Motor online store list dated 24.09.2026; a 3% discount applies to bank transfer/EFT payments, shipping is not included in the price and is paid by the buyer. Please check the store page for current prices.

The “likely shipping method” column is a guide, not a commitment. The exact method and fee are notified for your specific order before payment.

Three Facts That Set the Shipping Fee

Shipping is not included in the motor price and is paid by the buyer. Three facts determine the amount:

  • Weight: At the same rating, a cast iron housing is heavier than aluminium; weight rises quickly as the frame number grows.
  • Package size: Pallet footprint and height enter the volume calculation at freight companies.
  • Destination province and address type: A freight branch in a city centre and a factory address in a district may be priced differently.

That is why there is no fixed shipping tariff on the site; the amount is calculated separately for each order. When asking for a quote, giving the motor model, quantity and the province/district of the delivery address speeds up the calculation.

Calculating the Total Cost Correctly

The most common mistake with quotes from different cities is comparing a shipping-included quote with a shipping-excluded price. Use this formula to put the comparison on the same footing:

Total at your door = Motor price incl. VAT − (3% discount if you pay by bank transfer/EFT) + notified shipping fee

For example, the store price of the 15 kW cast iron DRG-160L-4 incl. VAT is 36,732.96 TRY; applying the transfer discount and the shipping fee notified to you in writing gives the real cost up to your plant. Payment methods and bank accounts are listed on the payment options page.

Packing for the Journey: What the Buyer Should Know

Whether a motor arrives undamaged depends largely on correct packing. When you receive it, inspect the packaging with these questions in mind:

  • For large frames, is the motor strapped to the pallet, and are there signs of slipping on the pallet?
  • Are the shaft end and key protected? An impact on the shaft end causes trouble when fitting a coupling or pulley.
  • Is the terminal box cover in place and unbroken?
  • On motors with a lifting eye, is the eyebolt intact and seated in its thread?

If you see crushing, punctures or wetness on the packaging, photograph it before opening.

Preparing the Destination: Forklift, Crane and Address

With palletised freight, the carrier often arrives without unloading equipment. For a heavy motor, a forklift, pallet truck or crane should be ready at your site. Before dispatch, clarify the following:

  • Will the motor come to your address, or will you collect it from the freight company's provincial branch?
  • Can a truck reach the delivery address, and is there a loading ramp?
  • Are the name and reachable phone number of the person receiving the goods written on the order?
  • If delivery outside working hours or at the weekend is needed, have you said so in advance?

An incomplete address or an unreachable phone leaves the motor waiting at the freight branch.

Several motors or a construction site address

If several motors are going to the same address, list them together when ordering; when small and large frames are in the same order, we clarify together how transport will be planned and how the shipping fee will be calculated. If the delivery point is a construction site, a dam site or a new plot in an organised industrial zone, adding a location link and the phone number of the person in charge on site next to the full address reduces the time the carrier loses on the way.

Inspection at Delivery and the Damage Report

The most important minutes of a delivery are the ones before you sign. If there is visible damage, have the carrier's representative draw up a damage report before accepting the goods and notify DRG Motor the same day. Claims against the carrier become difficult for damaged shipments accepted without a report. Inspection order:

  1. Check the outside of the packaging and photograph any damage.
  2. Compare the number of packages and the motor code on the shipping document with your order.
  3. If possible, open the packaging while the carrier is present; check the frame, feet, flange and shaft end.
  4. Verify that the nameplate data (power, speed, voltage) match the order.

For what happens next, see the return and exchange policy.

Alternatives: Your Own Carrier or Warehouse Pickup

If you work regularly with a carrier, you can have the motor collected by them. If you are in or around İzmir, you can also collect your order yourself from the warehouse in Buca by appointment; in that case no shipping fee is charged. In both cases the loading day and time should be agreed in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do store prices differ by province?

No. The motor price in the online store is the same for every province; the only item that varies by province is the shipping fee.

Can I learn the shipping fee before ordering?

Yes. Send the model, quantity and delivery province/district; the fee is notified in writing before payment.

What should I do if the motor arrives at a freight branch?

Find out the branch address and opening hours, and go with a vehicle suited to the motor's weight and, if necessary, lifting equipment. Check the packaging before accepting it.

What if I notice damage later?

Report it immediately with photos. However, for visible damage, drawing up the report at the moment of delivery is the soundest course.
