Induction motors running on alternating current are industry's most widely used drive element thanks to their simple construction, brushless design and low maintenance. DRG Motor's AC range covers a broad span from small single-phase drives to three-phase heavy-duty units, built to connect directly to a 400 V / 50 Hz supply.
The Three-Phase Induction Design
In three-phase motors, the rotating magnetic field set up by the stator windings drags the rotor along and starts the motion. A squirrel-cage rotor lets the motor start on its own without an extra circuit. With no commutator or brushes, this design offers high reliability and long service intervals.
Frame, Protection and Insulation
DRG AC motors come with an aluminium or cast iron frame, IP55 protection and Class F insulation. External fan cooling (IC411) keeps the temperature in check under continuous S1 duty. B3 foot, B5 flange and B14 face mounting options suit different machines.
Selecting from the DRG AC Range
With a power span of 0.55-355 kW, 2/4/6-pole speed options and IE3-IE4 efficiency classes, DRG Motor serves pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and automation lines from a single source. Choosing the right motor simply means matching power, speed and mounting type to the application.
New Installation and Motor Replacement
DRG AC motors fit both lines built from scratch and the spot where an ageing motor is replaced. Thanks to standard IEC shaft heights and connection dimensions, they mount directly onto the existing machine, which shortens the retrofit.
