Five questions settle whether an AC motor seller can actually supply what you need: is the rating in stock, what is the delivery date, which efficiency class is stamped on the plate, how long does the warranty run, and are spare parts held for that frame. Ask them in that order — the answer to the first one changes the value of the other four.

A seller with real depth carries several power and speed combinations of the same frame, in IE2, IE3 and above, rather than a single class. That depth is what makes a same-week replacement possible when a pump or a fan stops mid-shift.

Technical help can be judged just as plainly. A seller who asks for the driven machine, the duty and the operating hours before quoting is sizing a motor; one who quotes on the kW figure alone is reading from a price list.

After delivery the questions change: which bearing is fitted, what greasing interval applies, and can the terminal box be turned on site. Sellers who answer these keep the motor running; the rest send it back to the manufacturer.

Judge an AC motor seller on stock, class marking, warranty terms and parts availability. All four are checkable before payment, and together they decide what happens on the day the motor fails.
