The IE4 efficiency class defines the Super Premium level under IEC 60034-30-1 and noticeably reduces operating losses compared with an IE3 motor of the same rating. Across İzmir's continuously running production lines, that difference turns into measurable savings in yearly energy use, while the motor also runs cooler.

How IE4 Differs From IE3

Thanks to improved electrical steel, optimised winding geometry and low-friction bearings, IE4 motors deliver a higher efficiency curve than IE3 units. The advantage is most visible on partly loaded fan, pump and compressor drives, and the greater thermal margin at full load extends insulation life.

Speed and Power Options

On a 400 V / 50 Hz supply, IE4 motors are offered in 2-pole (3000 rpm), 4-pole (1500 rpm) and 6-pole (1000 rpm) versions. The pole count follows the torque and speed profile of the application: 4- and 6-pole models suit high-starting-torque loads, while 2-pole models drive high-speed centrifugal equipment.

Construction and Protection

DRG IE4 motors are built with IP55 protection and Class F insulation, rated for S1 continuous duty. The cast iron frame withstands the vibration of foundries and heavy industry, and foot-mounted (B3), flange-mounted (B5) and face-mounted (B14) options are available.
