Electric motors are essential power components used in production machinery, pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and many industrial systems. Electric motor prices vary according to power, speed, energy-efficiency class, mounting arrangement and manufacturing specifications.

In Turkey, the price of a standard industrial electric motor starts at several thousand Turkish lira in 2026. Large, high-efficiency or specially manufactured motors can cost hundreds of thousands of Turkish lira.

Why do electric motor prices vary?

Power is one of the main factors determining the price of an electric motor. As power increases, more copper, electrical steel and larger mechanical components are required. For this reason, a 22 kW or 55 kW motor costs considerably more than a small motor.

Motor speed also affects the price. The most common options are approximately 1000, 1500 and 3000 rpm. Motors with the same output can have different frame sizes and prices when their operating speeds are different.

Energy-efficiency classes such as IE3 and IE4 also influence the purchase price. IE4 motors are generally more expensive than IE3 models. However, their lower energy consumption can reduce operating costs in machines that work for long periods.

Prices may also differ between B3 foot-mounted, B5 flanged, B14 small-flanged and B35 foot-and-flange-mounted motors. A brake, encoder, special shaft, higher IP protection rating or non-standard voltage can increase the total price.

Electric motor prices from 2027 to 2030

Electric motor prices are expected to increase between 2027 and 2030 depending on exchange rates, copper prices, energy expenses, production costs and inflation.

For example, a standard 5.5 kW motor priced at approximately TRY 17,000–31,000 in 2026 may cost:

TRY 19,500–35,500 in 2027,

TRY 21,500–39,000 in 2028,

TRY 22,500–41,000 in 2029,

TRY 23,500–43,000 in 2030.

How should you select an electric motor?

Price should not be the only factor considered when purchasing an electric motor. The motor must also be compatible with the machine and its operating conditions. A cheap but incorrectly selected motor may cause excessive electricity consumption, overheating, poor performance and early failure. A properly selected, high-quality motor can provide a longer service life and lower operating costs.
