An IE3 series electric motor meets the Premium efficiency class of the IEC 60034-30-1 standard and is treated in many countries as the legal minimum for continuously running industrial motors. What sets a series apart from a single motor is that the same efficiency and quality philosophy is maintained consistently across every power and speed step. DRG Motor's IE3 series is built around this consistency.

What Does IE3 Premium Class Mean?

IEC 60034-30-1 ranks motors from IE1 Standard to IE5 Ultra Premium. IE3 Premium runs with markedly lower losses than IE1 and IE2. Because this reduction in losses lowers heating in the windings and the steel core, it also reduces the motor's operating temperature and wear.

Consistent Design Across the Series

The IE3 series carries the same Class F insulation, IP55 protection and S1 continuous duty across different power ratings from 0.55 kW to 355 kW. With 2-, 4- and 6-pole options, the 3000, 1500 and 1000 rpm speeds are offered in a single design language, so different applications in one plant can be served from the same motor family.

What Efficiency Returns to the Plant

On a continuously turning motor, the purchase price is small beside the lifetime electricity bill. The IE3 series saves on that large item through lower energy use, while its cooler running also extends bearing and insulation life.

Choosing the Right Model from the IE3 Series

İzmir-based DRG Motor matches power, speed and mounting type (B3, B5, B14) within the IE3 series to your application. Whether it is a pump, fan, conveyor or compressor, share your load profile and we recommend the series model that suits you best.
