The DRG Motor IE3 series consists of three-phase asynchronous motors that bring the premium efficiency standard to continuously running industrial facilities with a balanced price-to-performance ratio. The range is positioned as a standard supply option across a wide power band.
The Efficiency Balance of the IE3 Series
Under IEC 60034-30-1, IE3 defines the "Premium" class. DRG achieves this class with an optimised winding and a low-loss lamination pack while keeping the initial investment reasonable. The series thus offers efficiency at high running hours and a sensible cost for intermittent use.
Mechanical Build
The series is produced with a cast iron frame resistant to vibration and impact. The IP55 protection class guards against dust and splashing water, while F-class insulation provides a margin against high winding temperatures. The bearing design favours long maintenance intervals.
Speed and Mounting Options
The IE3 series is offered for 400 V / 50 Hz at two-pole 3000 rpm, four-pole 1500 rpm and six-pole 1000 rpm. Foot-mounted B3, flange-mounted B5 and face-mounted B14 options adapt to pump, fan and geared applications.
Choosing the IE3 Series
DRG Motor supplies the IE3 series from 0.55 to 355 kW, rated for S1 continuous duty. You can get support from our technical team to match power and speed to your application's load profile.
