High kW electric motors form the backbone of heavy industry, large production lines and drive systems that demand high torque. In this segment DRG Motor builds cast iron frame motors suited to continuous duty, supporting uninterrupted and efficient plant operation.

What Changes at High Power

As power rises, so do the heat and mechanical stress a motor produces. High kW units therefore use stronger bearings, a reinforced shaft and a cast iron frame. IP55 protection and Class F insulation preserve the safe operating margin even in demanding environments.

Balancing Torque and Speed

Conveyors and mills call for high starting torque, while fans and pumps need higher speed. A 6-pole motor (1000 rpm) delivers strong torque, a 2-pole (3000 rpm) is chosen when speed dominates, and the 4-pole (1500 rpm) is the most common balance point.

The Weight of Efficiency at High Power

Because high kW motors run for long hours, the efficiency gap shows up directly on the energy bill. IE3 and IE4 class motors perform the same work with fewer losses, lowering operating cost and limiting winding temperature to extend service life.

The Right Power Class with DRG Motor

In the high kW segment DRG Motor offers ratings up to 355 kW with foot-mounted (B3) and flange-mounted (B5) options. We can identify the right model together based on your application's power, speed and efficiency requirements.
