2-Pole Construction and Speed

On a 50 Hz supply the synchronous speed of a 2-pole motor is 3000 rpm; under load it runs at about 2850–2900 rpm. This high speed allows high flow with small-diameter impellers and fans.

Typical Applications

Centrifugal pumps, small blowers, grinding and polishing machines, and dosing and mixing units are typical applications for low-kW high-speed motors.

Selection Criteria

At low power an aluminum housing offers light weight and cost advantages; IP55 protection and class F insulation are safe in continuous operation. B3, B5 and B14 mounting options are available.
