Low-power electric motors, with a power band starting from 0.55 kW, form the basis of pump, fan, conveyor and small-machine drives. Even at low power, the efficiency class, protection rating and housing material of these motors directly determine their working life. DRG Motor offers a wide range in this segment from its İzmir-based supply.
Power and Speed in Small Motors
Motors in the 0.55–7.5 kW band are chosen as 2-, 4- or 6-pole by application: 2 poles at 3000 rpm for high-speed fans and pumps, 4 poles at 1500 rpm for general drives, and 6 poles at 1000 rpm for slow, high-torque tasks. At low power, choosing the right speed simplifies the mechanical transmission.
Construction and Protection
In small motors an aluminium body stands out for its light weight, while a cast iron housing provides durability in demanding environments. IP55 protection and Class F insulation guard the winding in small drives exposed to dust and moisture. Foot-mounted B3, flange-mounted B5 and face-mounted B14 options fit compact machines.
Efficiency Matters in Small Motors Too
Because low-power motors usually run in large numbers and continuously, an IE3 or higher efficiency class makes a difference in total electricity consumption. When the efficiency class of dozens of small motors in a plant is assessed collectively, the saving becomes visible.
Small Motor Supply in İzmir
DRG Motor offers low-power motors quickly and from stock at its İzmir manufacturing plant. For your pump, fan or small-machine drive we can determine the right power, pole count, mounting type and efficiency class together and supply it in a short time.
