High kW, high-efficiency electric motors are designed for power plants, heavy machinery and large production lines that seek both output and savings. These motors combine high power with low loss. DRG Motor supplies high kW motors in the IE3 and IE4 classes.

Why Efficiency Matters at High Power

The larger a motor, the greater the amount of energy its efficiency gap represents. On a motor above 100 kW, moving from IE2 to IE3 or IE4 yields meaningful savings over thousands of operating hours a year and extends life by lowering winding temperature.

Structural Measures in the Design

High kW motors use a higher-grade lamination stack, an optimised air gap and low-resistance windings. A cast iron frame, IP55 protection and Class F insulation safely carry the heat and mechanical load generated at high power.

Matching Speed and Torque

For high-torque duties such as mills and crushers, 1000 rpm (6-pole) is chosen; for fans and pumps, 1500 rpm (4-pole); for high-speed drives, 3000 rpm (2-pole). Efficiency reaches its peak when the correct speed is paired with the load.

DRG Motor for High kW Efficiency

In the high kW segment DRG Motor offers motors up to 355 kW in IE3 and IE4 efficiency classes. We can determine the most suitable high-efficiency model together based on your plant's power and running-time profile.
