Smart technology on an electric motor is not a display on the terminal box. It is being able to read what the machine is doing while it runs — winding temperature, bearing temperature, vibration and drawn current — instead of finding out at the next maintenance stop.
DRG MOTOR | High-Efficiency Electric Motor Sales
Reading those four values changes when a motor gets replaced. Our range is therefore specified with the monitoring decided at order stage rather than retrofitted later: sensors embedded in the winding, thermal protection wired out to the panel, provision for vibration and speed feedback, and IE3-IE4-IE5 class electric motors chosen against the real duty — single-phase and three-phase asynchronous machines, and the harder jobs this region asks for most: stone crushing plants, smoke extraction and vibration drives. A motor whose temperature and vibration are logged gets changed on a planned stop. One that is not gets changed when the line is already down, which costs a multiple of the motor.
