Electric motor prices are often not the fixed list figure people assume. Price is set by the motor's technical features, efficiency class and housing type. To see the right price, the motor's specifications must therefore be clarified.

The Main Factors That Set Price

Power (kW), speed (pole count), efficiency class (IE3–IE5), housing material (cast iron/aluminum), protection class (IP55) and mounting type (B3/B5/B14) directly affect price.

List Price or Quote?

While a general list price can be given for standard powers, the most accurate price for special powers and features is provided by quote. As the efficiency class rises the initial price increases, but energy savings balance it over time.

Thinking About Total Cost

A motor's true cost includes its lifetime energy consumption as well as its purchase price. In continuously running motors an efficient model is more economical regardless of the initial price.
