Where Low-kW Motors Fit

Low-power motors are used on small conveyors, dosing and circulation pumps, fans and automation mechanisms. Here the priorities are compact size, quiet running and energy efficiency. An aluminium frame, light and with good heat dissipation, is often preferred in this segment.

Where High-kW Motors Fit

High-power motors come into play on crushers, large pumps, compressors and main drive systems. In these units high torque, mechanical strength and efficiency under sustained full load are what count. A cast iron frame delivers reliability under vibration and temperature.

Sizing the Right Power

A motor is not simply chosen oversized; an oversized motor runs inefficiently at light load, while an undersized one overheats and shortens its life. The power and speed demand of the driven load must be assessed together with pole count (2/4/6 poles) and mounting type (B3, B5, B14).
